Since summer 2007, the “Loire à Vélo” trail covers over 400km of cycling tracks along the Loire River and its tributaries. Most of the itinerary crosses the sumptuous settings of the Loire Valley, listed as World Heritage by UNESCO. Families can meander through tranquil car-free routes, taking in the sights and sounds of chateau country .

The Loire Valley, keen to ensure that its cycle trails contribute to the protection of the environment, have implemented “green paths” made of environmentally friendly “adapted beige cement”.

River Loire has selected different routes, from easy to more difficult courses, to suit your particular requirements.
Each route allows you to discover the lesser-known areas of the Loire, chateaux, wildlife and culture. All itineraries are punctuated with the very best in gastronomy and the finest hotels of the region.
