ImageHave you ever dreamt of cycling through France? The Loire Valley has much to offer you.

If you wish to discover the Loire Valley by bike, the ‘Loire à Velo' program provides over 400km of relatively flat cycling tracks, stretching along the World Heritage Loire River and its tributaries. The “Loire à Vélo” project also offers over 300 kilometres of bike trails as part of the “Pays Des Chateaux” program; 30km of which is purely for cyclists. This is a ‘family friendly' alternative for discovering the sensations of chateau country. The route is clearly guided by signage, indicating all alternate routes, picnic areas and bike sheds at all the major sites.

The “Loire à Vélo” program allows you to discover unblemished areas of the Loire, castles, wildlife, gardens and culture. It is a must for those on a short break who wish to discover the Loire in a unique way.

The city of Tours, in the Loire Valley, hosts the annual cycling race, Paris-Tours , held in October. The route of which leads from Paris, through the picturesque valley of the Loire, and finishes on Tours main shopping street, Avenue du Grammont.

The Loire Valley is also conveniently close to Paris, where the final stage of the world's best known cycling race, Le Tour de France , is annually held. If you plan with us a cycling tour in the Loire during this time and wish to see this fantastic event, a 1hr TGV (fast-train) ride from Tours to Montparnasse station will gladly be arranged.
